Reading: Informational Paired Texts (Main Idea and Cause/Effect)
-Students will complete a quick summary of their 20 minute nightly reading homework.  They will turn in the summary each morning.  It will be returned to them each afternoon.




Vocabulary:     
Unit 3 - Week 1: ripe, embrace, irate, legible, seek
Unit 3 - Week 2: occupation, frenzy, sturdy, saturate, anonymous 
Unit 3 - Week 3: transparent, ripple, pleaded, beckon, device
Unit 3 - Week 4: pounce, scarce, briskly, edible, tolerate 
Unit 3 - Week 5: drowsy, mend, unite, accurate, massive 
Unit 3 - Week 6: maximum, minimum, decade, century, bellow (Quiz Friday)

 


Word Study: Unit 17 (ir, er, ur -r controlled)
-10 list words to study
-3 No Excuse Words for writing. These words don't follow patterns, but are common in writing. Students will need to write these words in a sentence. 
-Students will also be given 10 additional words that follow the spelling pattern for the week.
-Test Friday


Math: Unit 6: Perimeter, Area, Unit Fractions
- Study Guide coming home on Thursday. 3/9.  Unit 6 test on Monday, 3/13.

Writing: Writing Opinion/Persuasive
-We will continue writing our opinion speeches 

-For grammar (Mentor Sentence) we are focusing on your/you're.
-Students will have a Mentor Sentence quiz Friday.   


Social Studies: Where in the World?/Continents and Oceans review
- They will have a quiz Friday.


Study Island Lunch Club: Students that complete 5 ribbons at home this week and return the lunch ticket will be able to eat lunch in the classroom Friday.
