Reading: Paired Texts (Story Elements - character, setting, plot, theme)
-Students
will complete a quick summary of their 20 minute nightly reading homework.
They will turn in the summary each morning. It will be returned to them
each afternoon.
Vocabulary:
Unit 3 - Week 1: ripe, embrace, irate, legible, seek

Unit 3 - Week 3: transparent, ripple, pleaded, beckon, device

Word Study: Unit 19 (words ending in -le)
-10 list words to study
-3 No Excuse Words for writing. These words don't follow patterns, but are common in writing. Students will need to write these words in a sentence.
-Students will also be given 10 additional words that follow the spelling pattern for the week.
-Test Friday
Math: Unit 7: multiplying larger numbers
Writing: Writing Informational Essays
-We will be writing informational essays and using topic sentences and details
-For grammar (Mentor Sentence) we are focusing on figurative language (metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification)
-Students will have a Mentor Sentence quiz Friday.
Social Studies: Europe (landforms and waterways)
- They will have a quiz Friday.
Study Island Lunch Club: Students that complete 5 ribbons at home this week and return the lunch ticket will be able to eat lunch in the classroom Friday.

May 24th - Student's Last Day
