Reading: Illustrations Add Mood to Fiction
-Students will complete a quick summary of their 20 minute nightly reading homework.  They will turn in the summary each morning.  It will be returned to them each afternoon.





Vocabulary:     
Unit 3 - Week 1:
ripe, embrace, irate, legible, seek 

Unit 3 - Week 2: occupation, frenzy, sturdy, saturate, anonymous 
Unit 3 - Week 3: transparent, ripple, pleaded, beckon, device
Unit 3 - Week 4: pounce, scarce, briskly, edible, tolerate - Week 3/4 Quiz Wednesday
 


Word Study: Unit 15 (r-controlled vowels)
-10 list words to study (either regular or challenge) 

-3 No Excuse Words for writing. These words don't follow patterns, but are common in writing. Students will need to write these words in a sentence. 
-Students will also be given 10 additional words that follow the spelling pattern for the week.
-Test Friday



Math: Unit 5: Area, Multiplication, and Division
-Unit 5 Test Tuesday, study guide went home Friday


Writing: Writing Opinion/Persuasive
-We will continue writing our opinion speeches
-For grammar (Mentor Sentence) we are focusing on adjectives.
-Students will have a Mentor Sentence quiz Friday.   


Social Studies: South America - Students will bring home a study guide Monday. YouTube search:"Memorize the South American countries in 5 minutes." This is a silly video that helps the kids learn the countries.
- They will have a quiz Friday.


Study Island Lunch Club: Students that complete 5 ribbons at home this week and return the lunch ticket will be able to eat lunch in the classroom Friday.

February 20th - No School
February 21st - Conferences
Febrary 23rd - Science Fair at 6:00 pm
Marth 17th - End of 3rd 9 weeks
March 20th - 24th - Spring Break
