Anchor Story:  Destiny's Gift

Comprehension skill:  Understanding Characters

Phonics:  Common vowel pairs: ai, ay (long a sound) and ee, ea (long e sound)

Vocabulary Strategy:  Antonyms (words that have the opposite meaning) 

Language: Compound Sentences: These are sentences that have 2 subjects and 2 predicates joined by the conjunction "and", "or", or "but".

Spelling: lay, tea, real, treat, trail, afraid, sweet, leave, today, bait, dream, screen, seem, speed, paint , please. Challenge words: yesterday, explain.  

Math: Topic 2:  Adding Whole Numbers.  We will learn addition meaning and properties, adding on a hundred chart, using mental math to add, rounding, and estimating sums.

Science: Animal Life Cycles and Food Chains

Homework:
Monday: Read Destiny's Child to a parent or older sibling.  Complete the reading response sheet.
Tuesday or Wednesday: Read your AR book.  Complete the reading response sheet. 
Thursday: Study for tests

Students should get on Study Island as often as possible to review taught material. :)
