Language: Adverbs that Compare (Test Friday) An adverb describes a verb. Adverbs tell how, when, or where the action happens. Adverbs that compare use -er or -est. Example: The baker's cake rises

highest of all the cakes.
Spelling: (Test Friday) The spelling words this week are words with the vowel sound you hear in the word
ball. You can use the letters -augh, -al, and -ou to make this sound. The
spelling words are: thought, fought, bought, taught, caught, walk, cough, talk,
daughter, ought, sought, brought, trough, chalk, stalk. Challenge words are: sidewalk, distraught,
afterthought, overwrought, beanstalk
