Spelling: Spelling words this week contain digraphs: sh, th, ph, ch, tch. (Test Friday)
Words are:  father, chapter, other, alphabet, watch, English, weather, catch, fashion, shrink, pitcher, flash, athlete, trophy, nephew.  Make sure E in English is capitalized. 
Challenge words are:  northern, establish, emphasis, hyphen, challenge.  These words will be worth one bonus point each on the test.

Other IMPORTANT Notes:


-Since we cover lots of material in class, students do not have massive amounts of homework.  HOWEVER, students DO HAVE HOMEWORK EACH NIGHT....which is, read their Accelerated Reader book.  Students have a set goal of points to reach by the end of the 9 weeks.  They are responsible for reading their books, taking the test, and checking out new books in the library. Please follow up with your child.  Students receive a TOPS report after every test stating their total points and their average.  Students' goals are on the paper and their progress.  They should be at an 85% or higher accuracy level.  If you are not seeing TOPS reports in their binder each night, that means they aren't taking tests.  Students must meet their goal by the end of the 9 weeks to receive an A in reading. 


- Please send in candy for our class Halloween auction basket and $5 for the nacho stand at Pioneer Fest. Pioneer Fest is September 24th. Please see the note in today's folder or your email to sign up for work times.


- Take Home Tuesday folders need to be signed and returned with the papers Wednesday. 


- Some students will be allowed to retake their spelling test from last week to boost their grade.  Test is Tuesday....STUDY!
